2021 – The Head of the MOX Laboratory at the time, Professor Alfio Quarteroni, presents the MOX Laboratory
The MOX Laboratory was established in 2002 within the Department of Mathematics at Politecnico di Milano. Professor Alfio Quarteroni, the founding head, led the laboratory from its inception until 2022, except between 2014 and 2017, during which Professor Luca Formaggia served as head of MOX. As of 2023, the head of the MOX Laboratory is Professor Paola F. Antonietti.
Currently, the MOX Laboratory comprises approximately 120 research associates, including 40 faculty members.
Since its inception, the MOX Laboratory has attained international recognition as a center of excellence in applied mathematics. It is distinguished by its commitment to interdisciplinary research, its capability to secure funding, and its dedication to advancing research, education, technological innovation, and social responsibility.
