The SIAM Chapters Meeting for Young Researchers in Applied Mathematics and Scientific Computing took place on 29–30 January 2026 at Politecnico di Milano, attracting more than 150 participants.
The meeting aimed to foster scientific exchange and collaboration among young researchers in applied mathematics, numerical analysis, scientific computing, and statistical learning.
The scientific program included keynote lectures by senior researchers, invited and contributed talks by PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, and a poster session featuring an elevator-pitch format.
The meeting was partially supported and formed part of the activities of the Department of Excellence 2023–2027 (Dipartimento di Matematica, Politecnico di Milano). The financial support of GNCS–INdAM is also acknowledged.
The meeting was jointly organised by the Italian SIAM Chapters at Politecnico di Milano, SISSA, Università di Genova, Università di Pavia – IMATI, and Università di Pisa – Scuola Normale Superiore, and was held under the patronage of the Società Italiana di Matematica Applicata e Industriale.
