The Politecnico di Milano Press Office has highlighted an important scientific achievement by Mattia Corti (first author) and Paola Antonietti from the MOX Laboratory, Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano, carried out in collaboration with researchers from the University of Oxford and Stanford University.

The study, recently published in Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, presents a novel whole-brain computational model that investigates how vascular dysfunction and amyloid-beta accumulation interact in the onset and progression of Alzheimer’s disease.
