We are delighted to announce that Mattia Corti has been awarded the “Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry”.
The Anile-ECMI Prize for Mathematics in Industry was established in honour of Professor Angelo Marcello Anile (1948-2007). The prize was jointly funded by ECMI and the Angelo Marcello Anile Association up to 2023, and is funded by ECMI and the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics – ITWM Kaiserslautern since 2026.
The prize, awarded biennially, is given to young researchers for outstanding PhD theses in industrial mathematics, successfully defended at a European university during the two years preceding the award.
The award was presented during the Opening Ceremony of the 23rd ECMI Conference on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ECMI 2026), recognising Mattia’s outstanding doctoral research and its significant contribution to industrial and applied mathematics.
Mattia’s doctoral research was conducted at the Department of Mathematics, Politecnico di Milano, within the MOX Laboratory.
